After School Care

YWCA provides structured After-school Programs for elementary and middle school students, including a unique partnership with Phoenix Academy Middle School. Working directly with Guilford County Schools and paying close attention to each student’s educational needs, the programs use the after-school time to provide career exploration activities. Guest speakers and field trips expose the students to different colleges while getting them excited and motivated to pursue higher education.

Special Features include afternoon snack, homework help, low cost field trips, swimming and sibling discounts:

$20.00 After School Care Registration Fee
$45.00 per week First Child
$40.00 per week each additional sibling

YWCA High Point serves the following schools:
Elementary Schools: Johnson Street, Kirkman Park, Montilieu Elementary, Northwood, Oakview, Phoenix, Shady Brook , Triangle Lake

Middle Schools: Allen Jay Preparatory Academy , Ferndale Middle School* , Penn Griffin Middle School* , Welborn Middle School*
* Core City Middle School (Ferndale, Penn Griffin, Welborn) 1st 40 registered participants are free.

Throughout After School Care youth will discover and learn to appreciate other cultures through games, stories, and crafts. Youth and Staff will learn from each other. Basic Academics will be reinforced using the everyday world as a classroom. Youth will also engage in structured play and practice problem solving skills.

YWCA After School Care is conveniently located off Main Street and provides affordable childcare for working parents.

YWCA offers an onsite middle school program at Phoenix Academy Middle School.  This is a partnership between Phoenix Academy and YWCA High Point to provide quality care for the students during the school year.  On the early release days, the students are transported to YWCA High Point facility to participate in activities including swimming.

Teacher Workdays

After School Care offers extended hours of 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM on Teacher Workdays following the Guildford County School Schedule.
$20.00 a day for All Day Care on school holidays

YWCA provides a Summer Day Camp where participants will be exposed to new experiences, activities and skill sets while learning more about the people around them and the person that they want to be. Youth will do this through group activities, field trips, focus groups, bible study, leadership development, fun educational activities, sports, arts and crafts and much more

Summer Camp offers extended hours of operation from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Special features include breakfast and lunch, a wide variety of activities, low cost field trips and sibling discounts:

All participants must have a YWCA of High Point membership:
$20- Youth membership OR $75- Family membership
