Endowment & Planned Giving

The Legacy of the YWCA: The YWCA High Point has served our community for over 95 years by focusing on programs that benefit youth development, increased independence and self-sufficiency and quality of life By including the YWCA in your personal legacy, know that your gift will allow us to continue to benefit the health and well-being of our community for the next 100 years.

How can you have a lasting impact in our community?

Include the YWCA of High Point in your will. Your bequest will help ensure the YWCA’s mission continues to be a driving force in improving the lives of women and children.

In 1955, Alice Caldwell of High Point left the YWCA a bequest of $75,000. The money purchased the land where the current YWCA is located on Gatewood Avenue and jumpstarted the capital campaign for the building. Her generous gift is a hallmark of the community spirit that has bolstered the YWCA’s work for many years.

A charitable bequest is an excellent way to create a lasting memory and ensure the YWCA can continue its important work. Please remember the YWCA in your will or living trust.

How can I give to the YWCA?

There are many ways you can leave a legacy to sustain the mission of the YWCA, while at the same time providing yourself and your family with significant tax benefits. In addition to outright, tax-deductible cash gifts, there are other creative ways to give, including:

  • Gifts of stock or other assets
  • Bequest in your will or living trust
  • Beneficiary designation on a life insurance policy, 401(k) plan or IRA
  • Life income gift
  • Charitable lead trusts
  • Other opportunities that enable the organization to strengthen and improve its programs.
