Career Closet, Women in Transition, Legal Ease, Dollars & Sense and

2010: Do you know that 34% of the adults over the age of 20 and
17%
of the youth between 12 and 19 are obese?
The YWCA Aquatics & Wellness programs provides our youth and adults the skills to develop life long fitness for families & individuals. 50% of seniors 65 years and over live in pain and have an arthritis diagnoses. The YWCA offers classes that are beneficial to those who need to increase their range of motion and reduce chronic pain from arthritis, Parkinson’s, fibromyalgia or rehabilitation from surgery.

2010:
 Did you know that in 2006 there were 971 teen pregnancies in Guilford County and in 2004 it cost NC
taxpayers $312 million dollars to care for teen Mother’s?
The YWCA in partnership with the NC Department of Health & Human Services offers an Adolescent Parenting Program to support teen Mother’s. In 2008, the YWCA had 2 teen mothers graduate from High School and 100% of the participants delayed a 2nd pregnancy with no reported abuse or neglect.
